Programs and Clubs

Women in Computer Science (PWiCS) "aims to help mentor and support women in the computer science department. They hold a variety of events, from speakers to interview workshops to purely social events."

The Princeton University Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) promotes academic excellence through the form of tutoring, mentoring and incentive programs. The mission of NSBE is “To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically succeed professionally and positively impact the community.”

Rehack by Princeton E-Club is a "reverse hackathon" where participants redesign existing technologies to foster "greater and healthier relationships between people and technology."

Envision is an annual student-run conference that "brings together current and future engineers, policy makers, scientists, philosophers, business leaders, and others who will lead the world in intellectual innovation."

Summer Programming Experiences (SPE) "offers novice programmers an opportunity to gain experience by working on a creative and substantive programming project, in a supportive, fun, and enriching environment, with the regular guidance of a faculty or graduate student mentor."

Princeton CS in Puerto Rico is a program led by Dr. Alan Kaplan in which students help teach a version of COS 126 at the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez and volunteer at rebuilding/recovery sites throughout the island.

INTERFACE is a group that "meets weekly on Sundays at 2PM ET to discuss the impacts and ethics of computing. Topics range from privacy and surveillance issues to education, security to labor policies."
